So my birthday is precisely in 22hrs from now and i will be 23yrs old! fuck, that makes me feel old just saying that haha. man, time sure flies by quick tho that's for sure. How do i feel? damn.. honestly, i feel like i've been holding back and it's time to get things rolling. I'm over all the goin out, smoking, laziness, and all the other bullshit bad habits that i do.Time for a change. One that's for the better. Gotta step my game up and get my priorities straight.Usually people tend to adopt this mentality on new years and whatnot but fuck it, this feels right, right now and ain't no better time than right now. I know i promised i wouldnt get deep with y'all on this blog but right now, im chillen.. pullin an all nighter on a paper i have due tomorrow and its 3:00am in the morning. Tis a perfect time to reflect and get shit out cause its been on my mind for a minute now and aint nuthin better than taking the time to reflect on your life and make any positive changes that you need to. With that being said, i gotta get back to this paper. 'Ill try to keep these deep posts to a minimum. With that being said, Today is the youngest you will ever be for the rest of your life, so act like it. Till Next time fam!
behind the scenes kanye west complex cover
This cover came out a little while back but i barely just came across the video now. I thought the cover was creative and always wondered what the idea and concept behind it was. Its always interesting to know the backing behind every idea and what a person envisions especially from people who are known to always use their noggin, stay mentally fresh, and push their bounderies. I believe Kanye West is perfect example of that. anyways, cheggit out!

Tilt Shift
looks cool.
Bathtub IV from Keith Loutit on Vimeo.
"Tilt-shift" actually encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. Tilt is used to control the orientation of the plane of focus (PoF), and hence the part of an image that appears sharp; it makes use of the Scheimpflug principle. Shift is used to change the line of sight while avoiding the convergence of parallel lines, as when photographing tall buildings.
In many cases, "tilt-shift photography" refers to the use of tilt and a large aperture to achieve a very shallow depth of field.
basically it makes objects and real people look small. Cool effect.

JADE
"Its my heart,cookie" EP
Dope artist/Dope chick. Her voice is like a breath of fresh air in this music business.Very angelic and pure. We need more artists like her coming out with real, natural, talent. Support good music. I'm out. Peace!
JADE promo from Mike Brown on Vimeo.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, a pastors daughter, Jade grew up in a non-traditional Puerto Rican household, “I wish I knew more Spanish and how to cook rice. Mom made Chinese food and blasted Gloria Gaynor.” Music is something that came very naturally to Jade early on, “especially in the shower…at the top of my lungs.” Soon, she began to sing in places outside the confines of her bathroom, and it wasn’t long after that, she began to write her own songs and create her own soundtrack. "It is the process of telling stories," which she says, "is one of the most amazing gifts anyone can have."
Following her musical ambitions, Jade attended the prestigious La Guardia High School for Performing Arts, majoring in vocals and graduating in 2003. Shortly thereafter, she was signed to a production company and was given the opportunity to flex her songwriting muscles. This was short lived as she was then signed to Pharrell's "Star Trak" label. Ultimately, Jade parted ways after a year, “I felt like a benchwarmer…No, I was a benchwarmer. I expected more from myself.”
Starting fresh, Jade is writing the songs she wants to write. Jade’s songs focus on the human condition. With each song she manages to tap into a different facet of herself to express multiple perspectives on love, growth, change, faith, and “everything else that makes us human. I like to focus on emotion: visceral and raw. That’s what life is about. But good music is good music, right? Right!?"
It’s safe to say Jade knows what she wants and she appears to be getting it: playing regularly all over the city to an exploding fan base at venues such as BB Kings, SOB’s, the Knitting Factory, Europa, Club Element, and city wide music events such as the Brooklyn Hip Hop festival and Howl festival, as well as having opened for notables Lupe Fiasco and Slick Rick. Along with her many shows, she has just wrapped up her EP entitled, "It's my heart, cookie." with production from J. Carmelli, Precize (GFCNY), and Inglish (The Cool Kids) and features Theophilus London.

A love story of bikes and one-night stands told through two African-American twenty-somethings dealing with issues of class, identity, and the evolving conundrum of being a minority in rapidly gentrifying San Francisco—a city with the smallest proportional black population of any other major American city.

Banksy
I've been up on the work of banksy for a minute now but have you? I figured why not post some of his shit for yall that arent familiar with him. 1. he's a dope graffiti artist. Been around for a minute. 2. rebellious,3. controversial, and 4. he's UNKNOWN. noone knows what he looks like. Have you seen any of his work before? Keep ya eyes open. If ya don't know, now ya know!
In this next video, watch as banksy bombs disneyland in 2006. before you watch this, just know that banksy's intentions are not to offend anyone. I believe he simply wants you to think and open your eyes to whats REALLY going on in this crazy world we live in. artistically ofcourse. In this case, i feel that he chose disneyland because its considered" the happiest place on earth" and people go there to escape the harsh realities of life and to basically show why places like disneyland even exist. Quite frankly, escaping doesn't solve anything. the truth is never easy to swallow and is rarely family-friendly. Some may say this is terrorism but i DISAGREE. Check it out !
also check out what he did to the paris hilton cd when it first came out and his dope exhibit.

BDK Documentary
When it comes to hip hop, there are only a handful of people that truly deserve to be called legends. In BDK, we learn the story of one of hip hop's most notable legends, Big Daddy Kane. From music to fashion, Kane has always been a quintessential figure of the Golden Era of hip hop. In this documentary, directed by Anthony Marshall (co-founder of Lyricist Lounge), Kane talks about his years growing up as a kid in New York, his life in the rap game, his influence on fashion and his lyrical superiority.
Big Daddy Kane. One of the greatest lyricist's and MC's of all time. BELEEEDAT! Hope he's workin on a new album...

Keri Hilson

damn... in the words of pablo francisco.. this woman is " fahh-hyyy-hiiiinne!". If you dont know who she is.. not only have you been living under a rock, but while you were under that rock, you've probably might've heard some of her work through OTHER artists. She's a singer/ songwriter signed to Timbaland's record label (Mosely Music Group) as well as Interscope. She's also is part of a songwriting crew called " The Clutch"( collection of songwriters whose work includes Omarion's - "icebox", Timbalands- "the way i are", Ciara- " like a boy".) So next time if your listening to a song and hear that in the beginning, ya'll already know what it izzz son!. She's written songs for Britney Spears, Usher, Ludacris, Ciara, and Diddy to name a few and shes very talented at it. She also has a song out right now on the charts thats dominating the clubs, and radio, called " Turnin' me on" feat. Lil'Wayne. I've been hearin it everywhere which is a good thing & the beat is bananas. Her new album entitled, " In a Perfect World" will be in stores March 24th! If you like well written songs and a dope voice ontop to match, i suggest you cop this album.
New teaser video for a song off the new album entitled " Make Love" (cameo by Kanye West).

Beat Freaks
I happened to catch this performance a couple days ago.. and i must say, shit was pretty phenomenal! (no pun intended.) They're objective was to incorporate some type of magic into their routine and they did a great job. Plus they're hot, they deserve to win for sure. Although Quest Crew is pretty good too, i believe beat freaks are taking this championship home. Best crew this season hands down. Without a doubt. If these ladies don't win this season of America's Best Dance Crew, I'm gonna shoot myself. Ight.. maybe not.. but i sure hope they do. I haven't been keepin up with the show lately but beat freaks have made it pretty far thanks to all the support. I hear its down to the nitty gritty so go show some love & VOTE for Beat Freaks on MTV.com. YA HEARD!!

It's really whatever and up in the air so the possibilities are endless on the type of shit i can drop on this blog ya dig!. So without further adieu, I leave you with my very first blog entry!
Lately I've been listening to an artist named Kid Cudi and saw his music video debut today for his hit song called "Day N Nite". I thought it was pretty dope. He was in town here in San Diego,CA not too long ago for the ASR convention. for those of you who aren't familiar with what that is, its an (extravaganza where over 500 action sports brands and a parade of retail buyers, top manufacturers, industry pros and media hipsters from all 50 states and more than 60 countries gather together to conduct the business of surf, skate, snow, swim, and inline and urban streetwear marketing and merchandising.) and a bunch of celebrities come into town. I wasn't able too watch Kid Cudi's performance due to the simple fact that the club it was being held at was charging an arm and a leg just to get it in. Let alone the prices for drinks in that mutha are preposterous. yes i said it, preposterous! haha. but anyway, check out his new video, its dope! Now i wasn't a fan from day 1, but its been a long time coming for this dude and i enjoy his music. Signed on kanye west's label G.O.O.D music. Check it out!
